Empowering Youth: Highlights from the Mental Health and Wellness Summit

What I Need (W.I.N.) proudly hosted its first-ever Mental Health and Wellness Summit, bringing students together for a day of healing, learning, and empowerment. The event offered young people a safe and supportive space to explore tools that nurture emotional well-being—an opportunity participants said they were grateful to experience.

Throughout the summit, students took part in a series of hands-on workshops led by passionate wellness practitioners:

  • Yoga with Mrs. Holly helped students connect with their bodies, stretch, and release tension.

  • Meditation with Ms. Felicia introduced grounding techniques to quiet the mind and build inner calm.

  • Sound Bath Meditation with Mrs. Talton created a peaceful environment where students could relax through soothing vibrations and sound.

  • Art Therapy with Ms. Daja encouraged self-expression, creativity, and emotional reflection through art.

  • Managing Stress & Anxiety with Ms. Kim offered valuable strategies for coping with everyday pressures, helping students feel more equipped to navigate life’s challenges.

The turnout was wonderful, and the energy in the room reflected the importance of providing youth with meaningful mental health resources. Students shared their appreciation for the opportunity to learn, decompress, and build skills that support long-term wellness.

W.I.N. looks forward to continuing this work and expanding programs that uplift and empower young people. This summit marks the beginning of many impactful events to come.
